After continued investigation, detectives with the Sellersburg Post have charged 68-year-old Kevin Campbell with murder for his involvement in the shooting death of 41-year-old Christopher Proctor Saturday evening. Detectives believe that Proctor had arrived at Campbell’s home not carrying a sword and was in fact unarmed.
Campbell remains lodged in the Floyd County Jail pending his initial court appearance Monday afternoon.
After a near two-hour delay, Campbell phoned the New Albany Police Department to report a deceased male in his yard. As officers arrived at the residence, Campbell informed officers that he had shot Proctor. Campbell was detained and transported by detectives to the Sellersburg Post for interviews.
