June 9, 1891 Cole Porter composer and lyricist  ("Anything Goes"; "Night And Day"; "I've Got You Under My Skin"), born in Peru.


June 10, 1816 The Indiana Constitutional Convention met for the first day in Corydon.  There were 43 delegates from 15 counties.


 

June 13, 1893 Antoinette Leach was granted the right to practice law by the Indiana Supreme Court, becoming the state's first female attorney.


June 14, 1936  President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in Vincennes to dedicate the George Rogers Clark Memorial. In his speech, the President said that Clark "saved for us the fair land between the mountains and the Father of the Waters."
