Ronnie L. Pennington
Mr. Ronnie L. Pennington, age 78, of Seymour, formerly of Salem, passed away Friday, January 17 at IU Health in Indianapolis.
Mr. Pennington was born January 30, 1946 to June Pennington and Ferrell Smedley, but he was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pennington. Ronnie was a 1964 graduate of Salem High School and a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College. He retired in 2009, after 44 years of service with Cummins Engine Company. Ronnie was a member of Mt. Tabor Christian Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years. He served on the Board of Directors for Hoosier Uplands Corporation for 22 1/2 years. Ronnie was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Ronnie is survived by his wife: Linda Hall Pennington. They were married December 28, 1985. He is also survived by his children: Jessica Huls (Carey) of Campbellsburg, Jeff Pennington (Mindi) of Avon, Stephanie Lawson of Louisville, Carol Williams of Seymour and Chris Lawson of Salem, a brother: Todd Hunt of Salem, a sister: Mona Leonard of Salem, 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Tony Hunt and Monte Marion and his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will folllow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.
