Stacey Joe Luce
Stacey Joe Luce, age 56 of Pekin, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent hospital in Salem. Born January 12, 1968, in Covington, Louisiana, he was the son of Judy (Renfro) Watson and the late Joe Luce. On January 6, 2001, he married Nikki Luce, who survives.
Stacey worked on the starting gate at Churchill Downs for over 25 years, and was known as the “Sawdust Man” to the horse farmers that he served. He loved his family, and was very fond of his dog, Harvey.
Stacey is survived by his wife, Nikki Luce; his mother, Judy Watson; his daughter, Natalie Luce; and his sister, Kerry Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Luce.
Cremation was chosen, Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
