Connie Lea Hubacher
Connie Lea Hubacher, age 68, of New Albany, passed away Friday, October 11 at Baptist Health Floyd, surrounded by her family.
Connie was born August 27, 1956, in Scottsburg, Indiana the daughter of Wayne and Jolonda Ashabraner Voyles. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and American Legion in New Albany. She graduated from West Washington High School, Class of 1974. Connie served in the Air Force and as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the Navy. She spent her entire life serving others as an R.N. both in the military and as a civilian. She practiced her nursing degree as a labor and delivery and home care nurse, before retiring from Clark Memorial Hospital. Her sense of humor was a positive light to all that was around her. She was loving and kind to everyone she met and especially proud of her three children who were her whole world.
Connie is survived by her children: Steven Hubacher (Kim) of Charlestown, Jennifer Devitt (Dustin) of Unionville, Indiana and Heather Stainback (Andy) of Colgate, Wisconsin, her father and his wife: Wayne and Shirley Voyles of Salem, two brothers: Mike Voyles of Cynthiana, Kentucky and Danny Voyles of Salem, a sister: Susan Voyles Nesmith (Daniel) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and 9 grandchildren: Adalyn, Sara, Kasey Rae, Kellan, Kylie Jo, Kolten, Khloe Grace, Derrick, and Dillon, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother: Jolonda Voyles.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr Darrell James officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00AM-time of service at the funeral home.
