Larry E. Nicholson
Mr. Larry E. Nicholson, age 83, of Salem, passed away Sunday, October 20 at his home.
Mr. Nicholson was born January 14, 1941, in Salem the son of Wilbur C and Lala Winslow Nicholson. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy and was a foster parent for National Youth Advocate Program to several kids for over ten years. Larry was a retired farmer and had served in the National Guard.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife: Anna Mae Nicholson on February 24, 2019. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Fredrick, Raymond, Roy and Roger Nicholson, a sister: Lucrecia Isenberg and his parents.
He is survived by one son: Dawayne Nicholson (Pat) of Salem, four daughters: Annetta Nicholson of Salem, Nicole Combs of Scottsburg, Heather Nicholson of Austin and Karen Nicholson of Paoli, a brother: Roscoe Nicholson of Salem, 7 grandchildren: Bradley Nicholson (Pam), Brittany Nicholson, Keegan Coomer (Dylan), Paisley Combs, Gavin Combs, Preston Phillips and Lily Phillips and 4 great-grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Elaina, Martin and Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Winslow Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Amedysis Hospice 305 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
