Barbara F. Richardson
Barbara F. Richardson passed away Saturday November 16th at Silver Crest Rehabilitation Center in New Albany Indiana.
Barbara was born September 29th, 1941, to Chrissy & Harriet Fisher of Pekin Indiana. She lived her entire life in Indiana and was very proud of being a fourth generation Hoosier. She recalled fondly of her time growing up in Pekin, while living the balance of her life in Edwardsville/Georgetown Indiana and truly loved having never left the area.
After High School she married Charles "Pepper" Richardson who she was married to for 31 years (he preceded her in 1991). They had four children, the first was lost shortly after delivery followed by Cheryl, Chuck (who preceded her in 2023) James "Jim" (Wendy Pastor). She was "Mamaw" to one grandchild, Ethan Richardson.
She was a proud sister to Junior, Eugene, Dorothy (Nofal Mattox), Fred, Christena (Riley Cureton), which all preceded her. She loved all of her Cousins, Nephews and Nieces along with their respective families along with in-laws and numerous friends.
Barbara had several interests, most notably that of her Family. She loved a good meal that she created, or one that was created by someone else. She loved games, be it board games on Christmas, Bunco or Wheel of Fortune, games were seemingly ever present in her life. She loved all manner of wildlife, from Deer and Turkeys to her songbirds who were regular visitors to her property. She loved music, Elvis being her favorite for obvious reasons and a host of others. She enjoyed traveling all over the US though and had the chance to spend a few weeks in Europe. Her most important interests were that of her family, who always stayed in touch by phone or just dropping by to say hi. She was happiest when a new addition was added to the family or that of a friend’s family.
Barbara retired from the Phillip Morris Co. in 1997 after working 27 years in the Louisville Plant as an operator.
Memorial Visitation – 11 AM -4 PM Sat., Nov.23rd 2024, at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150)
Expressions of Sympathy: In Lieu of Flowers to Emmanuel Cemetery or The Floyd County Humane Society
