Juanita M. Gladden
Juanita M. Gladden, 91, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on March 1, 1933 in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles H. Hawkins and Reba Belle (Lacy) Hawkins. On July 23, 1950 she married Clyde L. Gladden, who passed away on June 27,1999. Juanita was a current member of Austin Christian Church and a former member of New Providence Baptist Church in Austin, Indiana. She graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, Indiana. Juanita was a private home health nurse and worked in California and Indiana. She had a special love for all animals. In addition to her parents and husband, Clyde, Juanita was preceded in death by her six brothers, Raymond, Henry, Robert, Hubert, Kenneth and Gilbert Hawkins; and one sister, Thelma I. Sanders. Survivors include two sons, James H. (Emily) Gladden of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Larry W. (Sandra) Gladden of Austin, Indiana. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Adam Gladden, Andrew (Emily) Gladden, Anthony McIntosh, and Heather (Stephen) Lewis. Funeral Service 1:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Pastor Dave Huey officiating. Visitation 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2024. Interment will follow services at Hopewell Cemetery in Vienna, Indiana . Memorial Contributions to: Alzheimer's Research Foundation c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
