On Tuesday, February 18, at approximately 8:19 a.m., members of emergency services responded to the area of 5380 North White River Road in reference to a single motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a maroon 1999 Ford Ranger off the west side of the roadway, on its side. The driver was identified as Jackson Layo, age 18 of Campbellsburg, Indiana. Layo was temporarily trapped inside of his vehicle until a passerby helped Layo exit the vehicle through the windshield. Layo was not injured.
Layo stated he was traveling northbound on White River Road, when he lost control of his vehicle due to road conditions. Layo said his vehicle slid off the west side of the roadway and rolled onto its side before coming to a rest, against a tree.
Sheriff Brent Miller is the lead investigator and was assisted by members of the Campbellsburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Washington County Ambulance Service.
